Race Morning Packet Pick-Up & Registration
The Festival Grounds gates will open and race morning registration and packet pick up will begin at 5:30 a.m. at theVenice Airport Festival Grounds.  

Registration and packet pick-up will close at 7:00 a.m. and the race will start promptly at 7:15 a.m.

The scenic, single-loop course will take you from the Venice Airport Festival Grounds, through neighborhoods, along the beach-front road, into Caspersen Beach Park and returning along the Venetian Waterway Trail to the Festival Grounds. 

Three water stops will be provided on the course at approximately miles 2, 3.5 and 5.  

Note:  No portion of the course is on the beach.  You will start and finish on an old closed runway and taxiway, transition to and from the Festival Grounds via a crushed shell road and parking lot.  The trail through Caspersen Beach Park is a packed "jeep" trail.  Otherwise, you will be on paved roads or the concrete path of the Venetian Waterway Trail.

  Notes:  Finish line closes at 9:00 a.m. 
             You must be able to complete the 6.2 mile course maintaining 17 min/mile   
             No pets are allowed on the Festival Grounds

Be sure to take Business US 41 onto the Isle of Venice and follow the signs for the Shark's Tooth Festival

Using I-75 from the south:  Exit 193/Jacaranda Blvd, left at Jacaranda Blvd, right at Center Rd, across By-Pass US 41 (little zig-zag) then right on Business US 41 northbound and follow the directions "From the South"

Using I-75 from the north:  Exit 200/FL 681 S to US 41 southbound and follow directions "From the North" 
 
From the North:
Follow Tamiami Trail/US-41 South
At the US 41/Bypass 41 intersection, stay right on Business US 41 to go over
     bridge onto Venice Island
Turn Right at Ave Del Circo
Turn Left at Airport Ave E
Proceed beyond "dead end" sign to entrance of Venice Airport Festival Grounds

From the South:
Follow Tamiami Trail/US-41 North
At the US 41/Bypass 41 intersection, stay left on Business US 41 to go over
     Circus Bridge onto Venice Island
Turn left at Ave Del Circo
Turn left at Airport Ave E
Proceed beyond "dead end" sign to entrance of Venice Airport Festival Grounds

Awards  Shark's Tooth 10K will be chip timed; however, per USATF rules, official results and awards will be based on gun time.  Category and age group winners will receive a custom award in these groups:
 
Overall male/female; Youth (14 & under) male/female; Masters male/female; Grand Masters male/female; Sr. Grand Masters male/female; and Veteran Grand Master male/female

Age Groups:  Male & Female 3 deep in 14 & under, 15-19, ...then 5 year age groups to 75-79, plus 80 & over
